Soundbites

These MP3s are sounds used on the Genius Loci trail.

The first five were played on mp3 players hidden in holes and crevices along the gorge. They were played intermittently enough to keep people guessing, but often enough to provide a natural sounding soundscape evoking scenes from prehistory.
Interesting what can be done with a contrabassoon sample!

The sixth was the background soundtrack for the Flowstone movement piece in the inner chamber of Robin Hood's Cave. It was augmented at points by the live playing of 3 different Tibetan Singing Bowls, Temple Balls, Togo bean rattle, shaker, thumb piano and shakuhachi. Hopefully we will be able to show you some of this piece on the artwork page soon.

The seventh is the story told by Joy in the storyteller's chamber in Robin Hood's cave
